I'm a Leo!: A Super Overdue Post! =D

I'm not sure if any of my readers knew that I celebrated my birthday last month. Well, except for the bee-yoo-tee-ful Bee... =D

Before I review the Flawless Skin Care Kit I mentioned in my last post, let me share what went through during my super busy birthday month... before this super busy month of September ends! Hahaha! =D

I got this a few days before my birthday. Inside is a Yakson House Magazine! Thank you, Yakson House! ^__^

August 18th. There was an event at our school and my hubby's aunt's niece (gets? =D) asked me to make her pretty for their school presentation. They wore Filipiniana clothes and strut their stuff in the catwalk! How cool, right? I actually like their professor's idea. It makes students embrace our rich Filipino culture. ^__^

This is her before photo. Sorry if the picture is not good. We were in a hurry and she's conscious. She's not used to these kinds of stuff. =D

This is her after photo. I used shimmery earth tones and smoked it out. I want to give her a modern Maria Clara look. Naks! What do you think?

My only problem with her was, her skin was oily and she perspire a lot. I learned that her makeup stayed intact but she had to wash it off after the fashion show because aside from being conscious, her liner started to bleed already. To think that I used waterproof liner and mascara and sealed every thing!

Anyways, after that, we had a sumptuous lunch to celebrate my birthday. My mom-in-law and hubby cooked lots of viands for us to share! =D

Yummy!!! ^__^

The family's infamous sweet and buttered chicken! ^__^

Pork Steak galore!

Paksiw na Bangus... ^__^

I think only beef dish is the one missing... We don't normally have beef dishes at home because the mother-in-law can't eat it. She's not allowed to consume beef after having cancer. Even until now that she's cancer-free, she's steering away from it. So, when hubby and I dine out, I prefer having beef dishes. =D

In the middle of our meal, I received a tube of Encara BB Cream from Ms. Aila! I also received a text message from Mary and Maria Boutique, that I won the Escada Fragrance Set from their Freebie Fridays! I was actually the first winner!!! OMG!!!! ^__^

That night, I went to church and met up with Bee. She brought me what hubby ordered from her. She also surprised me with a pair of really lovely shoes!!! Clever Bee, she remembered my shoe size from our Facebook chitchats!!!

Lovely and wild rolled in one! =D

Bee, can you read minds or, are you just good at remembering? I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE wedges!!! ^__^

We went to Yellow Cab Lacson and chatted the night away! If only we could talk for a long time! I had fun that night and I am glad to finally meet you. You're really BEE-yoo-tee-ful!!! ^__^

August 19th. My birthday! Hubby and I went grocery shopping at SaveMore. He cooked spaghetti and his own version of Bonchon chicken. Yum! ^__^

Cerelac? Huh? That's not mine! It's for the little man at home! Hahaha!

Oooh... so plenty of cold cuts!!! =D

Hubby's spaghetti and Fried Chicken! I'm really lucky to have a husband who knows how to cook!!! ^__^

While I was savoring my meal and watching Disney's Atlantis on Fox Movies, sitting in a corner like a little child, my hubby's grandfather called me and told me that someone looks for me. I was not expecting anyone that day, so, I was really surprised. Can you guess who it was?

It was Dawn of the Peachy Pink Sisters!!! ^__^

I was truly surprised as I was only wearing pambahay, shabby clothes and I wasn't even wearing any trace of makeup. (Yeah, looking bland on my birthday! Hahaha!!!) I quickly recognized her from the other end of our hallway and I immediately felt breathless!!! =D

She personally dropped by our house to deliver the prizes I won from their Blog Anniversary giveaway! It was so touching and special for me!!! ^__^

I invited her inside but she was having a date with her brother to the all new Robinsons's Magnolia (which I've never visited yet). When she left, I felt so giddy and oh so kilig while staring at the package!!! I was actually smiling from ear to ear!!! =D

Yeah, yeah, I am such a sentimental person! Hahaha!!!

Here are some of the stuff I got that week...

Le Faerie Cosmetics 180 Color Super Palette from hubby courtesy of Bee
Inti-Mate Bra Converter from Ms. Sophie of Beauty and Minerals
Encara BB Cream from Ms. Aila Apollo

Escada Fragrance Set from Mary and Maria Boutique

I still can't get over this!!! I was not expecting the hubby to buy me this SUPER PALETTE!!! ^__^

Thanks, Jagi! I am such a lucky wife!!! ^__^

I'll do separate posts on these soon. ^__^

I may have not received all the things from my birthday wishlist, I'm still thankful for all the good (and even bad) things that went my way. ^__^

To sum it up, August was a blast for me! I thank God for the life he has given me. And I am very happy that I am still alive until this moment. Yes, I shall be facing many trials and challenges in the future but I am sure that God has great plans for me despite those hardships.

Thank you, my family, friends and most especially to my loving husband! Of course, thank you, dear readers! You all make my life worthwhile! ^__^

I hope you enjoyed reading! Have a great day!!! ^__^

Just for fun... Can anyone guess my age? Teehee!!! =D

Flawless Day! A Journal on my Experience and A Review

VISIT: August 12, 2012
FLAWLESS BRANCH: SM City San Lazaro

A week before my birthday, we all agreed to use the Flawless GCs I won from Ms. Martha.

It was a Sunday and I was a bit worried as we didn't set an appointment. Good thing, they accept walk-in patients and although the wait was kinda long, it was, truly a wonderful experience.

We redeemed our GC in Flawless SM San Lazaro, the nearest mall in our area. I shared it with my sister-in-law and my brother-in-law's girlfriend.

The clinic was pretty chic. The interiors were dimly lit, just like the usual spas. I also love the touch of pink in their clinic. After all, it is the color of Flawless! =D

The staff was accommodating; a lot of people come in and out of their posh clinic to inquire and set appointments but they stay nice and cool. =)

While waiting for our turn, I took some photos of us... =D

I wore my Firmoo glasses on that day. I knew that when I go out of Flawless, it would be obvious that I had a facial. Teehee!!! Anyway, for my review on the Firmoo glasses, click here. =)

My sisters-in-law. Oh! I was also wearing the same blouse that day. I told you, my sister-in-law and I buy the same kind of clothes sometimes. =D

On that day, she decided to wear her blouse just for fun. We looked like twins that day! Hahaha!!!

My favorite selca... this is officially my FOTD that day. =D

Look at my little sister-in-law... She's so cute! We were cracking up while she sits and "reads" the magazine. As if she could actually read what she sees from the magazine! Hahaha!!!

Oh! Look at that cute pout!!! =D

Hihihi... Cute... She imitates her elder sister!

The little one wanders around reception of the clinic and the staff doesn't mind! They actually found her cute, especially with her pink blouse. She could pass as a little representative of Flawless! Hahaha!!!

One of their staff members asked us about the kind of facial that we'll have. Since it was our first time at Flawless, we asked her about what kind of treatment should we get. She assisted us nicely and advised my sister-in-law to have an Oil-Control Facial, while me and my brother-in-law's girlfriend was advised to have an Acne Control Facial, which, I was really planning to have since my skin had been very prone to acne lately.

Long wait is over. My name was called and I was asked to come inside. A very nice Attendant named Arianne accommodated me. I was wearing minimal makeup that day and on that day, I wore the Martha-inspired look on that day for the second time. I am so loving that look because it makes you look polished without having to pile tons of product on the face. I've been to church before heading to Flawless -  the reason why I was wearing makeup. =D

Ms. Arriane was very nice. In fact, she was very careful and her hands work like magic. She would prompt me about the things she'll do to my face, unlike other attendants, they would just go about their business of pricking your face.

I told her that I still have makeup on and I asked where can I wash off my makeup. She smiled her sweetest smile and told me to lie down and she'll do it for me. =)

Just like what I said earlier, it's so good that she tells me what she's about to do to me. =)

I wasn't able to take snapshots of the first few steps of the facial treatment as my hands were covered in a warm and relaxing wrap.

Here I am, face all red and swollen after extracting out a lot of blackheads and whiteheads. Eeeek!!! >__<
Tiis ganda mode! Hahaha!!!

Mask time!!! ^__^

I love their mask. It feels cool and refreshing.

I think the session lasted us about an hour and a half. For me, it was worth the time lying down the facial bed. It was sure relaxing and I love the fact that I was finally able to get my face cleaned thoroughly after some time. ^__^

Now, let me share my thoughts about my Flawless experience... =)

What I love about it...
  • I love that the attendants and staff are friendly and accommodating. They are so nice and cool to customers although there are some customers that are impatient.
  • The line up goes first come first served. When we came to the clinic, I was nervous about being rejected as we didn't set an appointment. It was a spur of the moment treat! Surprisingly, they smiled at me and assured us that it's okay, however, we had to wait for our turn, which, is just fine with me. =D
  • My attendant was so nice. She was not pushy about me getting a more advanced facial. =)
  • All of the attendants showed professionalism. They worked well even though there were a lot of patrons that day.
  • I love that the receptionist was able to assist us in helping pick the best facial treatment based on our needs.
  • The ambiance is truly chic and relaxing! =)
  • The treatment itself is affordable! All of their treatments are actually affordable!!! I thought that treatments and procedures cost expensive at Flawless, since it is well-known plus they have really popular endorsers like Judy Ann Santos, Lorna Tolentino, Richard Guitierrez and my favorite, Mother Divine Lee. =D

What I don't love about it...
  •  None!!! I love everything FLAWLESSly!!! =D

Whom would I recommend this to?
I definitely recommend the services offered by the Flawless Clinic. As for the Acne Control Treatment that I tried, I give it a two thumbs up! It's best for gals and gents that has acne problems. Do check out Flawless for their awesome services! ^__^

Rating:

5 out of 5
FLAWLESS! =D

Tips:
  • It is best to go to the clinic makeup free.  It would save you and your attendant the hassle of removing it. =)
  • It's ALWAYS best to set an appointment. It saves time and you won't have to wait for a long time, especially during weekends. =)
  • Be sure to share the delight of R&R with a loved one! =D

I went home happily although my face was a bit swollen. It was because the gunk (blackheads and whiteheads) were deeply seated underneath my skin. Despite of that, I felt my skin was clean and purified. Hehehe. I wondered, how on Earth I got those dirt? I just stay home, rarely puts on makeup and go out once in a while. The answer? It's my imbalanced hormones! I really should care more for my skin since I became acne prone (due to PCOS).

Here are my photos before bedtime, with the eye makeup removed (using baby wipes), of course!

Some of the redness and swollenness has subsided already.

I noticed that most of the stuff sprout on my left cheek. I wonder why...

And we also got sold by the affordable skin care kit they offered us. I'll post a review on these soon! =)

Just a thought... I noticed that my sister-in-law's attendant offered her the RG skin care kit. I wonder why... RG stands for their "Real Gentleman" services, obviously offered to male clients.

Oh well! The next post will be a review on Flawless' RG Skin Care Kit.

If I had only known that they offer affordable services, I should've went there for my pre-wedding facial last year. Imagine, relaxing, professional service which includes the mask and hand and back massage all for only P490! That's super affordable and "sulit" as compared to the facial center that I used to patronize. I must say, I am now a Flawless convert! =D

Have you tried Flawless? What are your thoughts about their services? ^__^

This post makes me want to have a Flawless bonding time with my hubby! Oh! Today's our 79th Monthsary as a couple (bf-gf)!

Happy 79th Monthsary to my one and only Jagi!!! ^__^

NYC City Proof Lip Gloss Review

You know how much I loved joining giveaways, right?

Long before I started my “Just Got Lucky Series” posts, I won an NYC Smooch Proof Lip Stain from Tammy of Not A Rich Girl. Unfortunately, the one she sent me got lost in the mail… So, she was kind enough to send me another one and she added another product to make it up to me (which, I think, isn’t really necessary). =)

Today, I shall be reviewing NYC City Proof Lip Gloss in Everlasting Blossom, which she included with my lip stain.

What it claims...
UP TO 8HR CITY PROOF GLOSS
Need a gloss that lasts as long as you do? Meet NYC’s new Up to 8HR City Proof Gloss. Its incredible formula offers high-shine and rich color with no sticky feel and serious staying power: up to 8 hours of wear! It also smoothens and conditions with kokum butter, jojoba oil and a host of good-for-you antioxidants.
So just gloss and go!

Now let’s put it to a test… =D

In between coffee breaks...

Still intact... =)

I love the way it looked here... It made my pigmented lips look lighter. =)

Uh-oh... The magic is starting to fade...

Gone...?

Gone! But it moisturized my lips and left my puckers looking lighter in appearance. =)

What I love about it...
  • It smells nice. It smells citrus-y that it makes me energized while wearing it.
  • The color is pretty. It is a pearly pink shade with micro-glitters that looks so elegant.
  • The doe-foot applicator is slim, unlike the usual lip gloss wands that I’ve had before. It is also soft and stayed soft after a few uses! =)
  • It really feels moisturizing. You can tell by the look of my lips on the photos.
  • Contained ingredients that made my lips soft and condition after it has faded.
  • It stays true to its “high shine” claim. Really glossy! ^__^

What I don't love about it...
  • Although it says from the site that it is not sticky, ironically, it is, sticky. Just swatching it on my hand already gave the sticky feeling.
  • It didn’t last me for 8 hours. I only had a cup of coffee on my first hour of testing it. I thought it will last, since it stayed glossy after my coffee break. Before lunch time came (after only a couple of hours), it started to fade. =(
  • It said in the site that it "gives full coverage in one stroke".
  • "High intensity color"? Nah...It is so sheer when applied. -__-

Price and Where to buy:
As for the price and where to buy, I can’t give a direct answer as it was sent to me all the way from the United States.
Whom would I recommend this to?
This is good for people who love shiny and glossy lips, and for people who love layering lip products. However, this is not for people who doesn’t like reapplying lip glosses from time to time. =(
Rating:

2.5 out of 5
So-So…
Tips:
  • This product is good for topping a lipstick that lacks shine and luster.
  • Re-applying is needed for this lip product.

Overall, if this would be available in the Philippines, I won’t repurchase it. There are many lip products out there which are more long lasting than this one. For a woman that talks for a living (being a teacher), it would be a hassle to reapply a product like this from time to time.

Next time you encounter this lip gloss, you already know what to expect! =D

My dear friends, what do you think of my font? I wrote part of this post in Windows Live Writer... Do you like it?

Comments are greatly appreciated! ^__^

I got so much to write about. I am so happy to share my hubby's birthday present for me! ^__^

Please watch out for that post! =)

FOTD 080412: Thinking of Martha

Hi! How’s your day? It’s already the 5th 1oth day of September! “Ber” months has started! Weee!!! ^__^

My birthday month is finished and it was a blast! I must catch up on updating you on what happened to me last August! Anyway…

You must be wondering who Martha is…

If you don’t know her, then let me introduce her to you…

Martha is…

Screen Captures

I had the honor of meeting this lovely and smart young lady a few of months back. (Read about it here.). She was really nice and friendly. A down-to-Earth lady, she truly is!

On that day, I can’t help but gush at her beauty. She’s true a beauty inside and out, of course. But one of the things I can’t forget about her on that day was the way she looked… which inspired me to recreate the makeup she wore that day. ^__^

It’s embarrassing to say that I was really stunned at Ms. Martha’s charm: perfect caramel skin tone, nice, beautiful locks, and a face that I could describe as true-blue Filipina beauty.

Okay. Enough rambling now! I will admit I have a girl-crush on her! Teehee! Or maybe I was simply stunned...

Anyways, here's the month-old look that I've been keeping in my lappie...

I love the pop of blue on my lash line! ^__^

Stay tuned, dears! ^__^
