Christmas Tag from Kath

Christmas hangover? Hahaha! Nah! I am actually trying to move on, as hubby and I had only a few days to spend together during the holidays....

Kath of Dear Kitty Kittie Kath tagged me the day after Christmas but I was too busy spending time with my Prince Charming and my own Santa Claus... =D

Here are my answers! I'll do it quick as I have another tag to work on... ^__^

What’s your favourite Christmas colour?

Red is too cliche, but it does remind me a lot of Christmas. I love seeing red, green, silver, gold and white during Christmas season. It seems to festive when I am surrounded with stuff with those colors. ^__^

Do you like to stay in your PJs’ or dress up for Christmas?

When I was younger, my Mom would dress us up in very pretty dresses on Christmas day. As we got older, and mom and dad parted ways, we only mind dressing up for our family's reunion, which is every 24th of December, Christmas Eve. Nowadays, If I don't have work on Christmas Eve (like last 2012), I would still do the same - dress up if I'm available and go meet my family and relatives. Last Christmas Day, hubby and I decided to stay home, eat spaghetti and sleep all day, wearing simple house clothes. Haha! =D

I'll only dress up if we'll go somewhere... =D

If you could only buy one person a present this year who would it be?
We don't have kids yet, so, I'll buy my hubby a present! Gundam? Shoes? Books? Name it, I'll buy it! Unfortunately, Jagi, - I know you're reading this - It's NOT Christmas anymore! Bwahahaha!!! XD

Do you open your presents Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
When we were younger, we used to open presents on Christmas Day. Now, I still try to resist opening presents to save them for Christmas Day but there's someone else who's more excited in opening my presents (and even the parcels that I randomly receive!)... Guess who... Kekekeke~! =D

Have you ever built a ginger bread house?
Nope! Not yet...

What do you like to do on your Christmas break?
Before Christmas breaks, a lot of things come into my mind - I want to do plenty of things but I have very little time. I wanted to see my family and friends and bond with them. Unfortunately, hubby and I are also deprived of time, so we end up locking ourselves in our room, sleeping, goofing with each other, watching movies all in the comfort of our tiny bedroom... ^__^

Any Christmas wishes?
Aside from the Christmas wishlist I had here, all I could ever wish for is to spend more time with my loved ones, most importantly my parents. They are not getting any younger. =(

Favourite Christmas smell?
There's something in the air that tells me its Christmas. I can't describe it but I love that smell. When I go out every morning during December, I try to inhale it in, filling my lungs with that familiar smell. Aside from that, I love the smell of Christmas Ham cooking in pineapple sauce... ^__^

Favourite Christmas meal or treat?
I love eating sweets, so whenever we go to our family reunion, I eat less rice or pasta and devour a lot of leche flan and salad! I also love Christmas Ham and lately, I missed eating my grandmother's yummy, cheesy and spicy caldereta!

What are you doing for the holidays this year?
I spent time with my hubby and family. I took advantage of the little vacation we had, so, I decided to meet hubby at Megamall on the 24th of December, after his shift. We roamed around the mall with our little companion, hubby's two-year old sister. The three of us looked like we are a family. Teehee! After that, we headed to my grandmother's house, only a few blocks away from Megamall. ^__^

Candy cane or Gingerbread men?
Candy cane. Because I have a sweet tooth! =D

What's your favourite Christmas song?
Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" reminds me of our former Company's Christmas Party last 2009. =D
Hubby, keep quiet, okay? =D

Have you ever made a snowman?
Not yet. There's no snow in the Philippines. =(

What is your favourite winter fragrance?
Hmmm... None. But I have a Bath & Body Works Body Lotion that smells so Christmas-y. It's a Limited Edition and it's phased out. It's called "Nutcracker Sweet" and true to its name, it really smells saccharine!  It smells so sweet and Christmas-y that I feel like being chased by ants after slathering it on. =D

What is at the top of your list this Christmas?
Although I made a wishlist, I wanted an external hard drive or a new laptop. I want to ask for a house of our own but that would have to wait. For now, I have to be more realistic. ^__~

What is most important to you about the holidays?
Being able to spend time with my loved ones, especially my husband. I always feel that time is too short for the two of us. I always want to be with him. This could be because we are so dedicated and absorbed in our jobs... I miss you hubby!!!

Ending this post with a photo of me and my grandpapa, whom we call "Papa Groovie"... ^__^

I wonder how your Christmas was, so, I'm tagging everyone! ^__^

That's it! I have to go to sleep now. I have to wake up early again tomorrow. Friday, come to me!!! ^__^

Another tag response coming up!!! ^__^

I'm Back!!!: Updates about the Weekend plus FOTD ^__^

Hello Blogworld!!! I'm back! ^__^
I got sick last week and if you read my last blog entry, it occurred here, at work. I don't know the reason, maybe because of the condition I have. Anyway, it seemed a long weekend for me since I was absent from work last Thursday then there's no work last Friday because it was Buddha's birthday in Korea.
FOTD: Smoky Black
Camwhore mode... hahaha!!!
FOTDs seemed like I didn't get sick... hahaha!!! XD
I will update you about what happened:
MAY 19, 2010, WEDNESDAY
As per my previous blog, I had a fever and was having chills while teaching. I didn't expect that I'll have fever the whole night till morning the next day. Woody, my mini pinscher, which sleeps in my bedroom, might have known that I am sick, so, he avoided to sleep beside me. We were not able to play because of that. I felt bad for him, but I was touched by his sweetness. He kissed me good night and he slept farther from me. I was sick but I still appreciated his cute face that morn-night. I wish I could have taken a shot, but my body was aching terribly and I felt helpless that time. So, I tried to sleep. Failed! I couldn't sleep because of the fever and the pain. =(
MAY 20, 2010, THURSDAY
I guess the maid woke up not because of the motorcycle she heard outside, but because of my whines and cries. A little later, she was wiping a wet towel over my head, my arms and my legs. It wasn't that cold, but it was okay, I think it also helped suppress the rising temperature of my body. She kept doing it until I was a bit relieved. Come morning, she was saying indirectly that she'll ask my Honey to buy me medicines. I went down at around 6 am to go to the bathroom. Honey's dad saw me and asked me how I felt. He already gave the maid money to buy me meds because Honey hasn't arrived home yet. I was actually worried because I give Honey's mom her shots of insulin; I don't know who will do it for her. So, I took a rest then, after an hour, the fever has gone a bit. I was able to give her insulin shots. I took lots of rest, hoping to be at work in the afternoon. I was bathing in sweat and it was terribly hot not because of my fever, but the weather also helped in making me sweat a lot! After eating a bit, I took another sleep... I realized that all I did was sleep that day!!! =D
Honey went home and saw me sleeping at their place. He always like me to sleep there whenever I don't feel good because he worries that something might happen to me since I (used to be) am alone in my room. Besides, he wants me to bug him as soon as I feel something strange. Hey! It's our monthsary already! He didn't bring me home anything but he bought food for us. ^__^
MAY 21, 2010, FRIDAY
No work. It's Buddha's Birthday. I felt a bit better now. I did a few things around the house but light chores only. Honey's parents were very careful and concerned about me, telling me to take it easy because I might get a fever again. Honey helped the maid wash clothes and we had lots of snacks in the afternoon. It was fun! We had pizza and sushi. It was a simple celebration for us. ^__^
Honey went to organists class in Tondo and when he arrived home, he bought his nephew and niece toys. He also bought me... a SNAKES AND LADDERS GAME! Hahaha!!! I was actually complaining, telling him that I wanted a Scrabble game. I accepted it anyway. I thought of an idea to make this game exciting: adding questions! I apply this kind of board game in class, and I think it would be a lot fun if we ask questions, instead of going up the ladder and sliding down the snake. Exciting, ayt? Hehehe...
Happy day... ^__^
MAY 22, 2010, SATURDAY
Manila Zoo Day with the kids. PM, Honey's nephew, woke us up and kept telling us that he's ready to go to the zoo.
We went to the zoo at around 10 in the morning, just the four of us: Me, Honey, PM and France. When we arrived there, PM saw the elephant and was scared to go near it. He was also scared to go in the reptile house. Hehehe... Generally speaking, PM was cowardly scared of the animals in the zoo so, we kept on teasing him that he's gay! Hahaha!!!
After seeing the animals in the zoo, we went to SM Manila to eat and wander around. We went home at around 4 in the afternoon. ^__^
Mark dropped by at the house and paid us a visit. He didn't bring Seon Deok. We went to 7-11 with Woody and Aki just to buy food and drinks. We stayed outside until 12 am. Fun! ^__^
Woody slept beside me while we watched "Hachiko". It was a touching dog movie based on real events. Must see for dog-lovers. ^__~
MAY 23, 2010, SUNDAY
Stayed home with the "family" (I consider my future-in-laws my family-we are like a real family-its as if Honey and his siblings are only my cousins. I feel like a part of the family already because Honey's parents treat me like their daughter. ^__^ ).
Ate and slept and went to church in the afternoon. After church, we went to SM (Save More) to buy some food. We purchased a few items only, but we were seven in number... hehehe....
The day ended nicely. It felt refreshed and looked forward to blogging my long weekend experiences. =)
I'll share some pictures soon. =)
Hope you enjoyed this post! Thanks for the people who inspired me to write... =)
I am hoping this would be a great week! ^__^

May 5th is Children's Day in Korea

Finally! A blog post that I had been working on! Sorry, I was too busy and lazy to blog these days...
Well, here it goes! ^__^

In South Korea, May 5 is officially recognized as Children's Day. Parents often give presents to their children, as well as spend time with them. The children are taken on excursions to zoos and museums. The holiday was originally celebrated on May 1, but was later moved to May 5.

The writer Bang Jeong-Hwan is attributed to creating Children's Day in Korea. He is also believed to be responsible for changing the meaning of the word "어린이" into "child", which originally meant for "younger" (as opposed to "성인" ("older")).-Wikipedia

So, this meant no work for us. We have no work during Korean Holidays; most Korean Companies follow the Korean Holidays in their Calendar. So, it means we work during most of the holidays throughout the year (but of course, there are some exceptions).

There are only a few holidays in Korea and we always do our best to enjoy those holidays. And so, we decided to go out since it’s also salary day. We had a little Children’s day of our own with Honey’s nephew and niece. ^__^

PM and France in Persia... Oh! Prince of Persia! Hahaha!

How We celebrated "Children's Day”

Okay. In the morning, we went to SM San Lazaro with PM (Honey’s nephew), France (Honey’s niece) and Mark (our family friend, actually, he’s the best friend of Honey’s sister). We actually went there just to buy our kid’s (Woody and Aki) stuff.

And so, off we go downstairs to wander around and saw this cool new place. Man! It was literally cool!!! It’s a frozen yogurt shop. I love frozen yogurt and as soon as Honey saw my initial reaction, he instantly bowed to me like a dad to a kid and I dashed off inside the cozy place.

The name of the parlor was Tutti Frutti. According to their website,

Tutti Frutti Frozen Yogurt is an international soft serve frozen yogurt brand of Well Spring. It provides no sugar added mixes, smoothie base mixes, 20 plus natural flavors, soft serve equipment, and designed unique cups.

Tutti Frutti Frozen Yogurt vows to please you with a premium quality yogurt that has great taste and good nutrition. We strive to serve you with great customer service and care. Tutti Frutti Frozen Yogurt promises to pursue only the highest-quality ingredients in order to bring our customers the best frozen yogurt in the market today.

It was self-serve. Meaning, you assemble your own yummy! ^__^ Each ounce costs P20. Mark got a little vanilla-flavored frozen yogurt while I dashed off to get my favorite flavor: STRAWBERRY!!! I got so excited that I almost filled my cup with lots of strawberry frozen yogurt. XD

Tutti Frutti's Serving Instructions

After putting on frozen yogurt, the next step was to put your own toppings. I first drizzled my frozen yogurt with strawberry syrup and placed some fruit toppings like cherries, mangoes and peaches. Oh! I also sprinkled some candies on it. It looks so cute! I finished it off with some mini-chocolate chips.

Took pics before eating my masterpiece! ^__^

We had our masterpieces weighted and guess what? Mark’s chocolate art cost him P150 while my strawberry art which I may call “Strawberry Dream” cost me P250 (hihihi… I think I got carried away!). Anyhow, it was an awesome experience! I really took lots of pictures of the place as well as our masterpieces.

Health Benefits... Good for health!
Our yummy frozen delights!!!

Another look before it melts!
Mark's Masterpiece!
I’m glad the kids enjoyed it, too. Of course, I also asked Honey to take pictures of us savoring our creations. ^__^

Yum-yum!!!
Excited!!!
With PM, France and Mark
PM, France and Mark... PM really posed for the pic!
Thanks for taking the pic, Honey... What!?! PM naman, eh!!! You are one pirate, PM! (hahaha!!!)
Honey watching us like a dad does to his kids... Thanks for constantly spoiling me, Honey! =D
I just can't get enough taking pictures... The place is really cozy!!!
Strawberry Dream... 사라 (gone)!

Our Journey Didn’t End There.

We went home to have lunch and rest. Real plan was to go to Quiapo. But Honey changed his mind. He wanted to go to Divisoria! I told him I don’t want to go there anymore because of the extreme heat. But we still went there with the two kids.

We wandered around 168 mall and saw many nice items. I can’t buy all of them because I have to think of our other expenses. I always comfort myself by saying “Divisoria is always here. I can always return anytime.” After about 30 minutes, I saw some Class A Mac make-up and before asking about their prices, something caught the my eye. A Mac Brush set containing 24-pieces (Class A, too)! I had mixed emotions upon seeing them. Honey asked about the price and remembering his mom’s reminder about the expenses and situation regarding her treatment, I almost held back. He knew I wanted to have a set and he also had to replace the brush that he broke. He insisted on getting me a set and while he was inquiring and working his way on getting a discount, I was having second thoughts on buying the set. I got surprised because the set was so cheap. And it made me all the more confused. Honey made the final decision. He got me the set! And do you know how much he got it? The price was actually P600 but he used his “charm” (so he calls it) to get it for only P500. ^__^

Recent Purchases: Maybelline Clear Smooth Pressed Powder in Honey (SM Department Store) and Class A Mac 24-piece Brush Set (Divisoria)
Maybelline Clear Smooth Pressed Powder: works nicely for me...

The brushes were good. I have not encountered a real Mac brush (Maybe I don’t recall; my aunt’s make-up artist uses authentic Mac products! He might have used Mac brushes on me when I attended my cousin’s 18th birthday.) in my life and I don’t have an idea on how it feels to the skin. But the brushes we got were really soft. So nice!

Class A Mac Brushes: so soft!!!

The main reason why we went there was to buy the kids things like coloring books and school supplies while they stay with us throughout the vacation. But Honey teased me because it was I who got the first item… hehehe…

Goodbye old and broken brushes... You can now rest in peace...

It was such a tiring but great day for me and the kids! ^__^

May 5th Purchases

Okay, let me recall the things I got…

♥ I bought a new Maybelline Clear Smooth Pressed Powder in Honey

♥♥ I got the Mac (Class A) 24-Piece Make-up Brush set for a cheap price. ♥♥

♥♥♥ Woody and Aki’s stuff: cute collars, chew toys, shampoo and leash (for Aki). ♥♥♥

(I forgot to take pictures... awww!!!)
