*** This post is sponsored by TopBlogs and Infinite.ly. All that's written here are my honest thoughts about the product.
I’ve always wanted to have a
customizable and fun and quirky website – something that really describes me.
However, I have no background in web designing and I have no time to learn HTML
codes even if my brother-in-law has already offered to teach me how to build my
own website. It will surely take me a lot of time. Knowing me, I am fickle-minded
even if I already have an idea of what I want. Haha!
A few weeks ago, TopBlogs sent me
an email regarding an interesting campaign. I was a bit hesitant because I am
currently on hiatus due to my busy schedule. Still, I cannot resist the urge to
try it and clicked away!
The campaign was about a
Philippine-based company called Infinte.ly, where they aim to help small
business owners launch their products through impressive-looking websites. I
think it is a really good thing to start with.
As we all know, websites can be
quite expensive, that’s why I stick to my current platform and even after three
years of blogging, I still don’t own my custom domain. You’re lucky if you know
stuff about Java, HTML and stuff, or if you have a boyfriend or husband who’s
techie. In my case, I am the techie one in our marriage. Considering that I sit
in front of the computer all the time, I try to learn things by reading blogs,
searching tutorials and boldly tinkering with my programs.
When TopBlogs told me that it is
about creating a website, I was a bit hesitant. As I’ve mentioned above, I am
not knowledgeable when it comes to HTML. But then, I thought of giving it a
try.
Launch your brand in 60 SECONDS.
60 Seconds? Seriously? But it did!
It didn’t take me long before I could launch my website.
Now, let me share my honest
thoughts about it…
What it claims...(From Infinite.ly blog)
Infinite.ly is a
web presence startup based in the Philippines, helping small business owners
build great-looking pages for their brand.
How to:
Sign up for free at https://infinite.ly.
Just type in your chosen domain name. in the box. Then click the “Launch”
button beside it. You will then be directed to another page where they’ll ask
about what kind of website you are launching.
What I love about it...
·
gives you
the freedom to choose your own domain name.
·
launches
QUICK!
·
is customizable.
The cute icons make it easy for a non-HTML reader like me understand how to perk
up the website without using HTML codes.
·
The fonts
are love!!! I am kinda tired of the same old fonts in blogger. That’s why when
I checked out the fonts in infinite.ly, I instantly fell in love!
·
helps you
create a uniquely-you website. ^__^
·
integrates
Facebook and other social sites.
·
The free
images they offer are high-resolution and are really pretty!
·
Drag and
drop the boxes to put them where you want them. But… (check the dislike part)
·
WYSWYG
feature. Well, the acronym says it all! What you see is what you get. It works
like a simple MS Word program. =)
·
Got lost?
Fret not! The tutorial box always appear when you log-in. =)
What I don't love about it...
·
It says
it is mobile-friendly, but, I can’t open it in my mobile browser. It says there
that I need to “claim” it first. Which, I think to purchase it? Hmmm… I also
checked it in my other desktop browser but it also told me to “claim” it… I think I better check it with them first.
·
The drag
and drop feature? Well, they can become difficult to use sometimes… Either you
need to be patient with them, or a steady hand. =D
Price:
The have various offers…
Whom would I recommend this to?
I’d recommend this to small business owners who doesn’t want to spend
much on creating a website. It’s also good for bloggers who dream about having
their dream website. Actually, I’d recommend this to people who want to start a
website but are not that knowledgeable when it comes to HTML and other
programming stuff.
Rating:

Recommended but still more to improve! =)
